ScholarshipsEvery senior student and their parent or guardian is busy with this year's events as well as planning for the future. Don't forget about the Marching Unit Scholarships. In order for a student to be eligible for a NMUPA scholarship ...
The scholarship committee may also inspect records of applicants regarding disciplinary actions, such as suspensions, incurred as a result of behavior during school-sanctioned events. The Marching Unit Directors (Band, Color Guard and Drill Team) keep records of each student's participation, attendance, etc. throughout their involvement in the Marching Unit. These records are also used to determine eligibility for a scholarship. Every little bit helps when it comes to continued education. Costs have skyrocketed and the competition for scholarships is huge. The number of NMUPA scholarships continues to grow each year. Each scholarship award is $500. The senior student population also continues to increase. In order to accomplish our scholarship goal the Marching Unit needs everyone to support this effort. The Live Auction, Calendar Raffle and NorthStar Cafe all serve as scholarship fundraisers. Please participate in these events so we can fund as many scholarships as possible. The Marching Unit Hall of Fame features student names painted on the walls of the music hall at Nottingham. You can have your student's name painted on a brick or block by filling out the Hall of Fame block order form. Small bricks cost $5.00, cinder blocks cost $20, and proceeds benefit the scholarship fund. Also, please drop off any used laser toner or ink jet cartridges in the NMUPA box in the NHS Library. Proceeds benefit the Scholarship Fund, and it helps the environment too! |
